July 11, 2020 - Dark Red, Inky and giving a deep viscous appearance. This wine is a deep hearty and full flavored wine. This is a big wine, without a doubt. Deep red berries and raspberries accompany a smooth wine with deep loamy flavors and rich notes of chocolate. This is not a light wine but it does not overwhelm the palate and leave your mouth burned out. Very nice bottle of wine for slow enjoyment.

June 15, 2020 - Probably one of the best merlot dominate blends i’ve ever had. 60% merlot, 30% cab and finishes with 10% petit verdot. After a 2 hour decant Smooth Velvet with soft tannin on the palate. Everything ive tasted from kirk venge has been solid.

June 29, 2019 - B Cellars Oakville Trek: Poor showing though based on other reviews, there is a chance this was an off bottle or had been open too long. Flabby, uninteresting, neither acidic enough to call it bright nor tannic enough to be grippy. It felt confused and the Cab and Merlot-heavy blend was entirely missing. At $20 a bottle I'd consider this, but at nearly $90 there is far better out there.

    March 2, 2019 - Napa; 3/1/2019-3/2/2019 (Napa Valley, CA): B Cellars tasting
    Paired with Anette's Chocolate

Great pairing with a nice piece of chocolate that perfectly complemented the merlot based blend from B Cellars. Sometimes I wonder how a winery like B Cellars can balance ALL the different wine they are making, but under the watchful eye of Venge they seem to have it figured out. Also tasted a '17 St Helena barrel blend that was fantastic (although not sure if it will be a single bottling or used in a blend at this stage).
