    September 25, 2021 - Tasting of Selosse Lieux-Dits Collection (deg. 2013 & 2019) and a few extras (Restaurant Møntergade): Indulgence overload. Creamy, rich and buttery with a full mouthfeel but the underlying acidity and citrus fruit keeps it nicely balanced and brings a refreshing character to the wine. On the nose you will find oceans of roasted hazelnuts, cream, slightly browned butter, sandel wood as well as ripe fruit such as mango, candied lemon and orange peel. Complex champagne and so much drinking pleasure right now. Looong finish.

    Tasted alongside 17 bottles of Selosse and it really stood its ground. Fantastic value.

    Extras at Tasting of Selosse Lieux-Dits Collection (deg. 2013 & 2019) and some more at Møntergade (25/09/2021).

    August 27, 2021 - A super rich and lush champagne. Can see why this is a crowd pleaser. Dom P like on the nose and palate with rich toasty, brioche and yeast notes. Hints of marzipan, quince on the palate. Not finding the acidity as noted by others which lowers my score here. Still satiating and satisfying.

    July 20, 2021 - Nose: with a bit of air and slight chill, the nose just works in complex harmony as it fills up the glass with red apples, brioche, warm pastry, spiced pears, custard, crushed rocks, vanilla beans, fresh cinnamon, Meyer lemons, and quince. There is a ton going on and it takes a bit of time to pick everything up.

    Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, high acidity. The acidity is beautifully integrated and the feel is deep and textured with red apples, custard, quince, Meyer lemons, spiced pears, vanilla beans, crushed rocks, brioche, and warm pastry notes.

    Overall: This is one of the more intriguing Champagnes I’ve had in a while. And I say that in a great way! 0 dosage, 100% barrel, and Blanc des blancs, it almost seems like it shouldn’t work and yet it does. There is great interplay between the slightly bruised fruits and use of oak that gives this a ton of character while still retaining freshness. I don’t think this will benefit that much from more aging as it’s well integrated already.

    May 26, 2021 - Much more generous than the 2011, with tons of ripe gala apple, a little lemon meringue, a little brioche. So much richer than the 2011 in fact that you wonder if it has the staying power to age. But the acidity is there, just buried under an absolute pile of tastes. Talking my book as I went quite long this champagne. But I am really glad i did. A real crowd pleaser too.
    Score : 94. Relative to expectations: ++
