November 5, 2017 - I thought this was lovely. Took about 45 minutes to open up, but the palate was elegant and floral. Gorgeous dark fruit accompanies the floral notes and the tannins were soft and relaxed.
March 21, 2016 - Still drinking well.
December 22, 2008 - Bright berries, floral notes and cinnamon on the nose -- big. The taste is tart, strongly fruity, with dark berries, good acidity, light tannins near the end. Nicely balanced all around. Although I had set this down as a wine to drink by end of 08, and I'm drinking the last bottle, I see now it could have gone on for some more time. Probably easily a year or two more.
October 28, 2008 - High toned, with some florals and red fruits and cinnamon spices in the nose. In the mouth the fruit is dominated by the structure, first the sharp acids then a wave of tannin. My guess is this could use a few more years based on the structure, but don't know if the fruit is concentrated enough for extended aging. It is very enjoyable at the moment. Great with pasta topped with sage/brown butter sauce, and good with grilled NY strip.
August 29, 2008 - Stunning nose that just blows out of the bottle -- full of flower and strong berry aroma. The color is lighter than a barolo. The palate is rich with an explosion of raspberries and nebbiolo fruit, with wonderful acidity and modest tannins. Lovely balance all around.
September 15, 2006 - Clear ruby red color. Cinnamon laced rose petals, dark cocoa and other lovely smells. Initially mouthfeel is almost prickly and acidic, tart red cherry flavors, fine tannins and earthy notes at the back end. Very good, but really needs a 3-4 hour decant right now.
June 18, 2006 - A superb nebbiolo, tart, full of fruit, light nose, as it opens it has unusual elements of chocolate and pepper. Sad that I only have a few left.
