July 7, 2022 - Dark fruit (cherry, slight blueberry), earth, slight pepper, spice, good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

November 11, 2021 - Earthy, subdued, BDX-esque, dark black dried & fruitless fruit. Minimal to zero pyrazines. Not a profound CF, but a deep pleasure, 20 years in, with duck -- we all loved.

October 24, 2021 - Thank you to @MCLANEW for the post from March 2020. We had our last bottle of this tonight. I followed your thoughts and decanted it six hours before consuming. While the fruit showed, very gently and reluctantly, the wine was mostly showing its aroma and not the palate. I suspect this was just one of those vintages . . . .

I would not hold this for too much longer -- it doesn't have the balance. Give it lots of air and drink up.

March 6, 2020 - Decanted three hours. It wasn’t enough as this improved substantially in the glass. I would probably decant for six hours. The nose on this is red fruit, bell pepper and earth. It is a bit rustic and emerges only with considerable coaxing. The palate is well balanced and medium bodied with red cherries, oranges, bell pepper, earth and tobacco coming through. The fruit doesn’t appear to have been able to attain full ripeness as it is a bit in the background making me wonder how this is going age further. Next time I will do a more thorough decanting and see if it’s better.

February 14, 2020 - Raffault never disappoints even in a difficult year like 2001. Superbly balanced wine that is drinking very well, and should for another decade or more.
