March 29, 2023 - Crimson in color. 14.8% ABV. Charming nose of red and blue fruits, cloves and violets. Medium to full bodied with exquisite acidity. Plush and opulent with impeccable balance. Bing cherry, pomegranate, sarsaparilla and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Really compelling from a jewel of a vineyard. Best over the next 3-5 years.

November 22, 2021 - Big juice bomb that is fairly two dimensional. Fruit is there of course if a big jammy extracted palate bomb and then the cooperage is almost primary on the back palate. Nothing else is going on and the wine was disjointed and wholly in integrated. disappointing to me as silver Eagle is fine fruit that others have worked with Esther than manipulated. This feels forced. No wonder my $80 a few years ago could be bought for $45 today. The market has spoken.

November 7, 2021 - Judging by the timeline of scores for this (especially 2020 notes) it just needed more time.
Today it is drinking at, what feels like, its' peak.
Velvety in texture with a touch of sweetness, bright red fruit and completely resolved and smooth tannins.
No air needed, just PnP.
I've had the '14, '15 and 16 and it consistently scores, for me, in the mid to high (97 for the '14) 90s. A steady performer if there ever was one.
