  June 4, 2023 - “Hogs head” exclusive from dads cellar after the move. Ripe cherry and other muddled red berries with a hint of dried mixed herbs: sage, thyme. Dark cherry on the palette with a little menthol. This is a weighty wine, waxy at times. Kind of goofy in its exact targeting of a very specific full bodied international style. Pleasant earthy finish. I imagine this is built to age well, but we didn’t really know what to expect and wanted a wine that was almost over-the-top “steak wine” and this actually hit the mark.

  March 28, 2022 - Dark fruited with a noticeable sweetness. Distinctive oak on the palate and nose. Very dense--almost cloying mouthfeel. This probably needs another decade, but not sure it's a style that suits me.

  January 17, 2019 - Flickinger Customer Appreciation Tasting (Casino Club - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Black cherry with a complex spicebox. Much too young right now, but the density and substance to age to a graceful place in a few years.
