June 10, 2023 - Definitely off, and maybe flawed. Slightly “bretty”, after 30 minutes in the decanter, but definitely “drinkable”. Aeration helped bring stabilization, along with the char-grilled NY Strip meal. Eventually, the beautiful red currant, red cherry, green tobacco, black raspberry, and rocky dirt started to emerge. Probably an outlier, I’ve got a couple of additional bottles, so we’ll see. Great experience with this winery in my past dealings.

June 30, 2019 - Really hard to judge now, but I’ll give my rating after two days of being open. This is an incredible backward wine, great nose of red and black fruits, massive cooking spices, but is not drinkable yet. Reminds me of some of those Backus vineyard wines... Needs at least 5 years to tone down the massive wall of tannins, probably more. If you open this for two days in bottle it’s drinkable and quite good, but most likely not close to where it will be.
