December 1, 2019 - Interesting bottle of wine that was a level or two below past bottles. On opening, it was thin and acidic. Not flawed but certainly not good. I left it for a few hours and came back to a transformed bottle. Ruby red. Earthy, deeply fruited nose with a bit of asian spice - classic. The palate rounded and deepened. There is still a bit of a bite on the finish but not nearly to the detriment it was right after opening. With a bit more polish, this would be a terrific village wine. As is, it is very good. Make sure to open in advance. (88)

July 7, 2019 - Mature Burgundy. Not as advanced as the previous bottle (see 2018-12-09 note). Nose of red cherry and earth. Palate showed sweet red cherry with leather notes. Great balance. Mature with no tannins notable.. This bottle drank well beyond is pedigree.

December 9, 2018 - Mature burgundy colour. Nose of earth and barnyard with touch of red fruit that became more dominant over time. Palate shows bright dark red fruit with lot of earthy notes and complexity. Fully mature with no tannins remaining. Decent finish for village wine. Not getting any better - time to drink up.
