May 28, 2023 - Belle robe ambrée foncée. Un nez de caramel, de noix, de pâte d'amande et une touche oxydative. Une bouche sur le même registre avec un alcool discret.

August 10, 2016 - This is now classified as "medium" rather than "Oloroso", since it is not a dry wine. Not however too sweet in reality either. This is just a good entry level Sherry that can be consumed alone or with appetizers or desserts. So it is versatile but not terribly distinctive. There is more depth here than in Bristol Cream, in my opinion, so the value proposition is solid.

March 15, 2010 - WSET Week 9 Fortified + Hard Liquor (Downtown Vancouver [AI School]): I dont know how to score a wine like this since I have no real experience in Sherry.

    C: Med+ Amber
    A: Med+ Intensity
Orange Peel, Molasses, Nutty, Salty Dried Fish[Anchovies]
    Opening Up a bit

T: Med Sweet, Med Body, Long Finish
Soy Sauce, Hoisin, Seasme Oil, Citrus Acid

Conclusion: I did enjoy this, the hoisin flavour kinda of put me off but after about an hr or so it opened up beautifully with those Umami notes!

December 8, 2008 - Tasted Blind - Medium amber in colour, clear throughout. Nose of dried prunes and raisins, nuts, toffee, sweet spice, salty notes as well. Medium sweetness, medium acidity, medium body. Palate similar to nose. 20 second finish. Excellent. Note: this is my first experience with Sherry.

April 12, 2006 - Amber-brown; walnuts, almonds, brandied prunes; nutty, slightly sweet, medium body, long slightly bitter finish.
The sweetness was well-balanced with the other components. Went well with nuts...surprise!

March 15, 2006 - Toffee orange/brown colour. Smells stongly of apricots, raisins, toasted almonds, spice, with rancio note. Scents carry to palate, plus a pronouced rustiness (dry, metalic) balancing against acidity (just shy of sour). Considerable heat. Medium plus bodied, a little sweeter than off-dry. Nicer on the nose, than the palate. Not bad though... especially considering the cheap sticker-price.

January 7, 2006 - Nutty is an accurate descriptor. Toasted almonds. Not quite dry, but very close to it. Recommended.

May 31, 2005 - This is going past its prime, but nice oloroso.

October 26, 2004 - Coppery/tawny colour. Nose of orange peel, brown apples. Reasonable, if not outstanding acidity, definitely as "nutty" as the name would lead you to expect: somewhere between hazelnut and almonds. Subtle and elegant. Longish finish.

May 1, 2003 - Orange copper/brown. Medium nose, a palate of oranges (sherbet?), walnuts, etc. Good, but not up the Garvey cream tasted next to it. Recommended in this style, though. Good length.
