Community Tasting Notes 16

  • Ajrod27 Likes this wine:

May 1, 2013 - Without decanting, it's a nice wine on day 1 but much better on day 2. I didn't take detailed notes but I remember liking the funkiness of the nose and driving acidity on the palate. Would definitely buy again at the price paid.

March 7, 2013 - Classic cherry nose with a good amount of funk. I see notes calling this a new world Pinot, but I think it is closer to Burg style. Not your basic syrup RRV. Medium weight, good driving acid. Tart cherry on the palate. This is a solid value anywhere under $25, but I believe I paid much less. Only downside is that it has a fairly short finish. The finish length did improve a bit with decanting though. If you like the funk, you will like this pinot. Wish I had more.

  • jpinsb Does not like this wine:

January 7, 2013 - While some Pinots have a hint of sulfuric nose that blows off. this one had a persistent scent and taste that overwhelmed all others. Like inhaling a recently lit match.

July 22, 2012 - Still drinking well. Liked the hint of spice.
