April 29, 2022 - Dark ruby hue. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, pepper, plum, raspberry, strawberry, tar, and vanilla. Medium-bodied, with rich, rounded tannins and medium-plus acidity. Smooth, luscious palate of ripe black fruit with a finish of minerals and oak. Drinking very well now. Blend of Syrah (25%), Grenache (25%), Mourvedre (25%), Zinfandel (15%), and Tempranillo (10%).
October 10, 2021 - Deep garnet color with soft notes and fruit
June 17, 2021 - After a 2011 Wellington Sonoma Cab this tasted like Concord grape juice. Thick and fruity without a whole lot more going on.
November 7, 2020 - Disappointed considering the experience of the winemaking team. Big oaky fruit forward blend with little in the way of varietal distinction even after being consumed over two days.
You could do a lot worse for a backyard barbecue but I would take a $20 Rhône wine over this every day.
February 29, 2020 - Deep garnet, touch our menthol on the nose, soft somewhat muted fruit. Rather non distinct but a tasty bottle of wine
January 30, 2020 - Similar impressions to the last time.
October 27, 2019 - Nice easy drinker; the Zin is somewhat in evidence and nicely balanced by other Bordeaux varietal flavors
July 5, 2019 - 2nd bottle and most of this was drunk on day 2 when it showed better than bottle #1. The red fruit melange is nondescript, pleasant but not compelling, yet nicely rich and saturated without excess weight or density. $20 red, yup, could even be a cellar defender.
June 12, 2019 - Opens up after 15 minutes in the glass. Great paired with fresh tarragon.
April 14, 2019 - Big, medium density, somewhat oaky, rich, fruity, and moderate tannin. Crowd-pleasing, to be sure, but there's something here for everybody. Good buy at $20.
