January 22, 2023 - Clear medium ruby; clean medium plus nose of soil, red cherries and savoury herbs; dry; high acidity; medium minus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa; long finish; drink now or in 5 years; still fairly simple out of the bottle; wished for more development

June 11, 2020 - Clear medium ruby; clean medium nose of jammy red cherries, earth, wood and at one point icing sugar; dry; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; pfn with ripe fruit and pronounced earth; medium plus finish; drink now or in a few years; disappointing wine for the price point - was expecting more complexity

April 7, 2020 - If you can still find this, try it for the individual that it is. Don’t compare to Cote de Beaune burgundy, but rather revel in the beauty of Mendocino Pinot Noir. Completely satisfying, round, sensuous and delicious. It’s $40 plus price tag is a steal to anything comparable in burgundy. Cliff Lede’s hand shows in this balanced, 13.7% alcohol beauty. Drink it now and over the next 18 months.

July 16, 2019 - 4 acres and mostly pinot. A touch of rich fruit and a bit of smoke as well. Tight and structured, interesting, needing a touch of time.
