  January 14, 2022 - Would be a great syrah with less oak. The character: big robust fruit is there but well hidden behind the oak. Improved slightly with time, but not much.

  March 11, 2021 - This wine is deep ruby in hue. The aromas include leather, spice, earth, and some blackberry. The fruit comes out more on the palate, but it retains a more savory/earthy quality. This wine is dry and has medium tannins, medium acidity, and medium alcohol. It has a nice mouthfeel and a medium finish. Very good!

  February 25, 2021 - Definitely improving; this bottle was much better integrated than the last one and didn't have the overpowering oak. Big nose with dark fruit, spice and almost meaty notes. Medium finish. Palate is lighter than the nose but still full bodied, mix of dark and red fruit, leather, oak and forest.

  January 4, 2021 - OK example of a syrah; has the right structure etc but too much oak. Gets a bit better as it is open; might improve with decanting; didn't try. Does hold up well with robust foods.
