February 2, 2024 - Very light, but elegant aromas of orchard fruit, fresh brioche and oyster shell. Medium-bodied, this is light and just dances across the palate. The epitome of elegance, this lacks the power and richness I prefer, but this is nonetheless delicious and filigreed. 93.
January 28, 2024 - About a year from my last bottle. A ton of toast up front that leads into a well balanced wine. This benefitted from and continued to improve after 60 min in the glass. With additional air, this revealed lighter and brighter fruits and became lighter on its feet. This is getting closer to its prime and is probably 1-2 years away. Revisit 2025

전반적으로 산미가 너무 도드라지고 팔렛에서의 밸런스가 좋지 못하다. 샴페인하우스의 플래그쉽인데 많이 아쉽다.
오히려 옐로우 라벨이 더 맛있었던거 같은… 기억의 왜곡이겠지….

January 3, 2024 - Comparable to a bottle on 12/24/22. A very good but not a great champagne. I've found the '08 Piper Rare to be superior to this.
January 1, 2024 - Beautiful! Elegant mousse with lots of brightness and zest. Still has a ways to go, but at this point the aromas are both inviting and enveloping… citrus and orchard notes with just a light touch of leesy complexity. The balance and refreshing vibrancy are spot on.

Il faut donc ne pas hésiter à l’ouvrir dès à présent même s’il vieillira harmonieusement pendant longtemps.
December 23, 2023 - Our Annual Champagne Tasting: Erik's bottle. Generous pinot fruit, plus a delicious creamy orange oil. An excellent LGD, but like most elite '08s, it will improve a lot with more time in the bottle.
December 4, 2023 - Opened by Allred. 750ml bottle. 2nd time I have had this wine. A blend of 92% Pinor Noir from Ambonnay, Aÿ, Bouzy, Verzy and Verzenay and 8% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Disgorged August 2016. 6g/l dosage. Straw color. Moderate bead. Chalky with pastry crust notes together with marzipan and lemons. I previously had the 1998, 2004 and 2006. No rush to drink. 93 points.
December 2, 2023 - CWM Holiday Dinner - 2008 Champagnes (Pa Lian Burmese, Wheaton): Initially a bit reticent, this too needed some time to wake up and begin to show off. Rich and nutty with apple, ginger and wet dough notes as well. Flavors of marshmallow fluff, brioche, dough, lemon curd and baked apple. This was the first bottle of this we have opened in a while that needed to breathe a bit before it really got going. 94-95 pts.
