Community Tasting Notes 9

August 6, 2015 - a big wine, consistent with last tasting notes. Did not show as well due to smaller glasses at the byo restaurant and fact we had no opportunity to decant.
Would definitely buy again, very enjoyable.

June 13, 2015 - Wow, this is a big wine. Room filled with aromas of dark berries while I was decanting this. Lovely, concentrated berry aromas on the nose, palate is packed full of concentrated fruit and very well rounded. There's tannin there, but it's well integrated. Finish is long and smooth.
Still a young wine, but drinking really well right now with food. I'm sure it has many years of life left, but not sure what will happen when those masses of fruit start to fade away.

November 16, 2014 - Very intense on all level! Good QPR but it has to be drunk with food, otherwise, it's too rich.

October 20, 2014 - Dark and rich. Great value of a wine.

September 25, 2014 - Consistent with previous bottles I tasted back in March, 2014, this wine is inky purple in color and shows intense aromas of sweet black cherry, mushrooms, ripe plums and anise on the nose. The mouth feel is very heavy with copious amount of vanilla, smoke and spices from the obvious amounts of oak. The finish is long with the 16% abv well integrated within the fruit, tannins and acidity.

Purchased for $15US, this is a very big wine, clearly made in the New World Style with gobs of oak and super extracted fruit. Old World fans will not recognize this as a blend of 85% Garnacha/15% Monastrell. New World fans will keep buying more, saying "wow" as they drink up this excellent wine that easily drinks like a $50+ bottle.

Imported by The Country Vintner, Ashland, VA.
