August 29, 2022 - This is one of those "great wine - don't you dare drink it!" notes. Night one, it's not ready, and it's not ready in one of those "this wine tastes shrill, crazy, off-balance and potentially bad" ways. But on night two, it's come around a bit. It is still insanely powerful, making Tynan's syrahs look dainty. I have a feeling this will be ready in 2033 or so. For now if you happen to have a bottle that's been open for 30 hours, find yourself the most pungeant, ball-busting cheddar cheese and see what happens. You're welcomg.

May 20, 2022 - Used an ETO (I know, I know, but it's actually pretty cool), drank on day 2. Incredible purity of fruit (completely opaque dark purple in the glass) with beautiful sauvage tapenade notes. Kinda tight on day 1, but really opened up. Love it and glad I have more!

November 2, 2021 - Pulled cork on Coravined bottle.

    Excellent. Hold or extended decant.

Coravin pour into two BDX glasses. Upon first sip I realized how wound up tight this wine was that I decided to consolidate into one glass and cellar decant for 24 hrs.

Deep purple with a slightest ruby rim. As noted by AG there is a purity of dark fruit that is seamless. Palate drying tannins are a bit much without food. This bottle will benefit from a long slumber. Next bottle in 5 years. Notes for the rest of the bottle in the near future.

June 4, 2021 - Double decant. Consumed over 5 hours. Pours very inky. Black fruited. Meaty. Incredibly concentrated and rich. Not sure I would call syrah in a blind tasting. Gorgeous texture. Slightly Drying on long lip smacking finish. A “holy shit!” wine. Best California syrah I have ever tasted.

This did not really improve much on day two but it held up well.
