    March 22, 2023 - A private lunch (Ristorante Piazza Duomo ***, Alba, Italy): Bottle No. 9,054 / 13,333. Wonderful depth and richness, meaty and earthy, spicy, forest floor, floral lift, hint of cocoa, minerally elegance, well managed velvety tannins, orange zest on the enveloping finish, hint of grappa. Long life. Not as refined as the 2016 tasted the day after.

    January 12, 2023 - 2015 Produttori & Friends (Nella Kitchen & Bar, Los Olivos, CA): A pretty nose, but the palate was compact and tannic, almost bitter. That said, I can see a clear path to greatness, in time, for this energetic, complex wine.

    November 25, 2022 - 醒酒半小时,淡宝石红色偏茶色,闻香有明显的香料味,百里香、迷迭香和丁香桂皮一类,还有月季花香,樱桃和蔓越莓的红果香气,些许泥土气息,入口酸度高,单宁紧涩,细砂纸一般,颗粒不重,酒液非常咸,咸矿石的矿物感,草药味,百里香,红果和木质气息,中后段不太能感受到,需要醒酒,余味很淡,红果和精致的木质香调。醒酒四个小时,闻香多了一些熏肉和铁锈一类的腥味,依然是香料和红果香气为主,单宁变得强壮,有些糙口,中后段没有太多改善,余味悠长红果和木质香气,回味非常精妙且持续,酒给人的感觉充满力量感。继续回塞三个小时后再饮,闻香有草本,红果,玫瑰花,丁香肉桂,还有淡淡香草味,香气集中,入口单宁颗粒细腻了一些,依然紧涩,量大有点糊嘴,不变的咸矿石口感,百里香一类的香料味至始至终,混合着草药和红果的香气,后段辛辣,悠长的余味伴随着口中回甘,香气比之前更加开放一些,但是状态始终有点紧,酒的结构坚挺,口感集中且充满力量感,几个小时的时间并不能驯服它,也许我们需要的是很多年。还没有进入适饮期的一支酒,晚个五到十年再试可能会有更好的表现。

    March 20, 2022 - Beautiful floral smell along with cherry and black cherry. Earthy yet juicy fruit palate at the start before the tannins comes in. Taste of cherry , raspberry, oak, licorice and anise. Still very tight dry tannins but risotto helped with that. Probably best to wait until 2024.

    December 3, 2021 - Fresh, intense black cherry and cranberry that’s soft and balanced, with lush, drying tannins into a long, dried-strawberry finish. Young, gorgeous Riserva that came together beautifully with 24 hrs of air.
