October 15, 2022 - PnP. Back ruby. Earth and concentrated fruit. Old world. Balanced and quite delicious from the get-go. Perfect with cheese and French baguette. Good Q2P ratio. Miles better than the week-old Barbera served alongside it. Way better than the 2019 of this cuvee which was not impressive at all. This, on the other hand, is what modestly priced Rioja is all about. (88-89).

February 1, 2021 - I’m enjoying this bottle better than my previous one. I didn’t think it would age well but it’s showing softer mouthfeel that feels older/more mature than 3 years past vintage, and with solid (M) acid. Palate has a persimmon character that straddles the line between sweet fruit and a more savory side. Simple and doesn’t feel specifically Rioja but this feels more in balance than last time and pretty good for $14. Went will with a carrot-chickpea-sweet potato tagine that was heavy on warm spice and paprika. ~5.5/10

December 20, 2019 - A strong-tasting example of the type, clean and straightforward and with nothing offputting, just so intense as to classy tempranillo taste that you would want to make sure your roast or whatever was equal to it. Big and lasting nose as well. Interesting it was so pronounced and finished (not new and raw) so young.

November 2, 2019 - No detailed notes because allergies are screwing with my palate but this is a little sweeter than I’d like (or a little less acidic), mainly primary fruit. Can’t really complain at the price point but don’t let the producer’s reputation get your hopes too high, this is a simple and straightforward wine that doesn’t show too much varietal or regional character; you can still do worse for the price.
