November 13, 2021 - Electrons, neutrons and Protos. Damn, this is good.

Dark, full of fruit, full bodied with smooth tanins, balanced acidity. Leather, dark berries, oak. Wonderful.

Great now and will most likely stay great for a few more years.

@vinochvipodden tried this wine from @bodegasprotosoficial when it was released a few years back and the review made me keep this on its back for a few years. Great decision.

February 14, 2021 - Decanted 1.5 Hours. Wine can hold in cellar for a few more years, however if one wants to drink now I would recommend decanting about 3 Hours as the wine profile opens from initial decanting.
Strong legs w/big powerful full nose. Be certain to allow wine to breath a bit in the glass as the nose moves from leather & tar to heavy blackberries. Flavor of leather, figs and light graphite. Full oak finish. Exceptional with appetizer of Parmagiano Regiano & Sopresata & entre of Skirt Steak & peppers & onions. Screams for a Steak! Outstanding!

April 30, 2020 - APPEARANCE: Dark red with purple hue.
NOSE: Red plum jam, blackberry, cinnamon, hint of cassis, slight dustiness, green apples, rosehip marmalade, rose petals, some leather, light tar. Improved significantly on the nose with several hours decant. (After only 30 minutes I was ready to score the nose 86-87 points. Several hours later that score has risen to 89-90 points)
TASTE: Ripe fruitiness, some maturity, mild baking spices, dark berry fruitiness, some citric/lemon acidity, generous ripe tannins. Nice but a little to ripe fruit and much oak for my palate. These are minor issues, though. (87-88 points)
    TOTAL SCORE 88 (89) points.

September 6, 2019 - Hello other raters? This is a standout Ribera del Duero Tempranillo. Just a standout. Old world classiness. Stellar acidicity. No fake oakiness. Well integrated tannins, sophisticated bouquet and earthiness. This is a class act. You rate this below 90 and it just shows that you are a clueless hick. Got a Grand Reserva of this aging in my cellar.
