    July 24, 2022 - Deeply colored for a Riesling. Good fruit and warm climate Riesling character but still enough acidity to hold together.

    July 13, 2019 - medium golden hue with glints of green; lemon, pear, honey, beeswax; slightly oxidative, citrus, minerality, good length; medium body, dry with only 0.6 g/L RS, high acidity, 12.9% ABV; made from 100% Riesling sourced from Kick-On Ranch in Los Alamos in Santa Barbara County, 48 hours of whole cluster maceration before pressing; $24

    Medium yellow color with a hint of gold.
    1-2g RS.
    Pronounced nose. The nose is oxidative - with bruised musty ripe mango, dried mango, underripe apricot, slight botrytis honey.

    On the palate, 14% alcohol, high acid, lots of wax, toasty wax, hints of botrytis. And yes, a singed-wool reductive note. So oxidative / bruised and reductive at the same time. A hint of phenolics - possible slight skin contact?

    Final call: The fruit character and oxidative winemaking are putting me firmly in Chenin Blanc. The dry-ish nature and slightly earth-driven style are taking me to the old world, Savennieres.

    Final call: 2013 Savennieres, $40.

    Great mid-palate concentration. Reminds me a bit of Clos de Bergerie and also a tiny bit of Gravner.
