November 18, 2021 - Beautiful new world cab franc with obvious attention paid to canopy management, this got ripe without being overripe and the pyrazines have been almost completely quelled. Can catch them on the nose but I couldn’t on palate.

Palate is new world and fruit but follows a nose that sends you imagining this could struggle with being green. Alcohol a bit high, worrisome on nose but well integrated and non-issue on palate. Slight notes of blue stone and petrichor on palate, wonderful. Finish is near-dry, pleasant and enduring.

Decant 30min minimum but ideally 2 hours or stash in the cellar a few more years.

I think my track record on enjoying $50 bottles this year has been pretty bad. This is clearly worth the money.

April 14, 2021 - Big nose and palate. I decanted and it evolved nicely with lots of complexity. The tannins are one step coarser than velvet. They evolved over time to appear less dry and smoother. It has a nice long finish without the astringent feel. Cabernet Franc can be amazing by itself when it is done right. After about four hours this wine was firing on all cylinders. Be patient and decant, you will be rewarded.

August 29, 2020 - Battle of the Cab Francs
2015 Stormy Weather Wandering Star (Napa Valley)
    2015 Sheridan Boss Block (WA)

    Night 1
Opened about 2 hours before trying both bottles. The Wandering Star was more muted, but after a few hours was finally starting to gain some complexity. The Sheridan was more open and ready to go, as it showed more complex, nuanced, high toned fruit that stood out as compared to the Wandering Star. It definitely stood out more and therefore more enjoyable to consume.

    Night 2
Will edit tonight with any noticeable changes.

February 7, 2019 - Heavy on the alcohol for sure. Decanted and had with bone-in ribeye. Dark purple, blackberry, bit of plum. Medium/full body. Still a bit of tannins on this so I'd recommend doing a longer decant (3 hrs for me) or let this sit for another 3-5 years. Still a great representative of 100% CF from NV.
