March 26, 2024 - Vins compris. Robe claire. Nez aérien et exotique, long. Très long en bouche, salin, vertical aussi. Très beau

March 8, 2024 - 15 months since last bottle. Pale yellow-gold with green tint. Citrus, pear, cream, wet stones, white flowers, hazelnut, crepe, honey waffle and lemon peel. Medium-full bodied, high acidity, medium-high structure, medium alcohol and long mineral finish. Rich and concentrated. Residual sugar on the lips. Wine had evolved since 15 months ago but still youthful.

In comparison with 2017 J.A. Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé Le Clos Tête de Cru, this Tournant de Pouilly was richer and thicker, and with more pronounced residual sugar. If intensity were the sole metric, this Tournant de Pouilly would win over Le Clos. But I personally preferred Le Clos which was less fleshy and more structurally balanced than Tournant de Pouilly.

December 8, 2022 - Pale yellow color with green tint. Citrus, pear, tropical fruits, stones and metallic. Felt rich on the palate, and medium-high acidity. Probably needed more time in cellar to open up.

September 10, 2022 - Tasted on the second day in a Grassl cru stem. The man who sold it to me suggested several years ago that this would be a good “crossover wine”, meaning that fans of higher octane New World Chardonnay would appreciate it and I think this is the case. Reminiscent of Henri Prudhon, with rich toast, and for a 17, it’s rather flamboyant in profile, but matched with a fresh acid spine. Lengthy and tasty, this is still quite a baby and needs more time to integrate.
