December 12, 2020 - Dark garnet color. Concentrated red berries on the nose. Pleasantly sour tannic raspberries dominate. Slightly thin-bodied but very tasty.

February 2, 2020 - Nice last bottle, considering the length of time this is supposedly over the hill. Good, drinkable, enjoyable. For ~$20 (even 20 years ago) a good deal.

December 4, 2018 - Not bad for bordeaux that's supposed to be 5 years over the hill. Drinkable and pleasant, but that's about all. Hurry up if you have one.

August 14, 2017 - 5 years ago when I tasted this wine the fruit was really thin. This bottle had decent fruit and tannin balance and drank pretty well.

July 9, 2012 - Fruit is pretty far gone. Tannins are still hanging around... maybe too much. Cheap wine, but I expected more.

June 13, 2010 - Fruit is overcome by oak and tannins, and a slight acidic "bite" - it went nicely with grilled filet, but drink this up in 2010.

April 26, 2008 - Nice smoky, aged nose, followed by a nice taste. A little thin (which meant that it was too easily overpowered by food), but otherwise a great example of aged bordeaux. Better with cheese or on its own. Good drink.

May 17, 2007 - Dark ruby/purple color. The nose has earthy berries, licorice, black cherry, tobacco, and just a hint of oak. Medium to full body with good acidity and a solid tanic backbone. On the palate the wine has crushed berries, cherries, and an earthy, leafy element. The finish is a bit short and turns a bit hollow with the fruit fading fairly fast and leaving an oaky, leafy element to dominate. The wine was a bit disappointing, but for $12 for a 2000 Bordeaux how much can you complain. The wine seemed to have more to offer than it was showing. I think another couple of years in the cellar will help. I won't touch again until 2009.

Wine initially tasted upon opening and drank with 2 hours in the decanter.

July 29, 2006 - A really tasty Bordeaux, extremely well-balanced with trademark cigar-box flavor, long finish, and a great nose. Evolved over 2 hrs. in a way that reminded me of an oaky tempranillo.
