July 24, 2022 - On this sampling not a keeper, quite a dull colour fruity nose , a rather muted mouthful and a rather dull finish, probably past it, I didn't pay for this and wouldn't buy it at this stage of its life.

June 30, 2022 - By the glass at the BA Lounge, Gatwick. Opened for a good few hours for sure, possibly overnight.
A good wine albeit past its peak and especially at this age and with a lot of aeration loses its bright and energetic feel that we so much liked a few years ago ( we don’t usually like this style/type of wine) . Good still but past its best days. 87-88

May 10, 2022 - I think this needed more time than others were willing to give. A year after others have notes I found it less tannic. More settled. Not overly complex but definitely a decent wine.

May 15, 2021 - Similar to previous. Perhaps slightly more tannic, with a bit less buttery notes. Finish also appears slightly more muted. Perhaps somewhat less aromatic.

Tasted final quantity, pouring directly from the bottle, after prior Coravin samplings (all within a few months); no change of any kind observed. This pour, however, was not aerated, which did seem to have some impact.

April 24, 2021 - Fruity aroma, with a somewhat unpleasant backing vegetal note. Tastes quite fruity (black fruits), with a very slight, not unpleasant, vegetal or herbal note. Has a nice body, albeit slightly flat. Has only a very slight, pleasant, tannic note. Relatively simple. Moderate length finish, with an additional nice slight buttery note.

Rating may be elevated, as this is my favourite variety. Tasted with a Coravin aerator. [Rating re-scored during Dec. 2022 system adjustments; with all other Carménères, even when not specifically noted.]
