December 21, 2019 - Blind Tasting - GSM (Epsom, Auckland): Dense flavours, dark plum, five-spice, not very clear and precise, but layered by meaty and earthy notes, with medium grained tannins and solid acidity, the rustic feeling is actually warm-hearted, full of flavours of home kitchen. It’s complicated, somehow sensual.

it’s on the opposite side of Torbreck’s pure fruity style, very old world. I recognised my wine easily and rated it #1 :-), however this style is not accepted by the group, especially ladies, they were indulged by too many premium AU/NZ red wines.

    Ap 5/5, Ar 13/15, Palate 18/20, Overall 4+3/10
    Total 93+/100

October 21, 2019 - This opaque crimson wine is a unspecified blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah that delivers a package of black and blue fruits, accented with Provençal herbs, exotic spices and loamy earth. Full-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%), softly oaked and with nicely integrated tannins, it is impressively dense in the middle and finishes with good length. Be sure to give this plenty of time in decanter, as (at this stage) it requires extended aeration in order to fully strut its stuff. Drink now-2030.

October 13, 2019 - Dark inky black, full bodied wine
Meaty, gamey nose, coupled with some dark fruit, and pencil lead
Thick and viscous. Jammy. Palate follows the nose.
A good wine that should age gracefully. Approachable now, but I would wait for it to settle down a little.

    Smoked a PSD4

August 29, 2019 - Splash decant. Deep ruby. Lot of sediment for a young wine. Restrained candied cherries and earthy nose. More syrah like flavors than grenache. Pronounced chalky tannins. Perhaps a bit over extracted. I think this has reasonable potential. Give 3 years in cellar. NR
