Community Tasting Notes 5

December 21, 2020 - Dumped. Just not good.

November 1, 2020 - Very nice! The color did not match its tasting profile. Out of the bottle it looked a little more like a Pinot noir but taste was definitely full bodied. Well balanced full bodied silky fruit forward jam with subtle pepper notes.

August 17, 2020 - The fine red fruit and licorice flavors were marred by an unpleasant medicinal hint that felt both stale and bitter, like crushed aspirin. I've tasted this note a few times in other wines, and I don't know what leads to it, but I'm sure it's not intended. This wasn't a flawed bottle, but it did have flaws. The unpleasant note had faded by night two, but was still present.

August 1, 2020 - Dark red, a great example of a big juicy Zin, fruity nose with jammy notes of blackberries, prunes, with a bit of earth and under brush, med heavy texture, needs air to open, 15% alc. Also tried the 2018, it's not ready, angular, better second night, give it another year.

May 2, 2020 - Medium red. Pretty sharp and dry but some good flavor. Should be okay with heavier foods but definitely not quaffable. Even sharper and more unbalanced on day two.
