March 29, 2024 - This has been open for a day. Dark crimson.. intense red fruit. Intensely aromatic on the riper spectrum. Velvety tannins but intense smokey cherry flavor hits you. Still more red than black.Long smooth and intense finish. Lingers on back palate. Really enjoyable wine!

January 18, 2023 - Flickinger tasting. A very accessible and tasty young Bonnes Mares. Excellent depth and concentration, especially for a 2017. Showing seamless and integrated. Already in a prime drinking window, though it should only improve as it develops nuance.

January 18, 2023 - Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): I've always been impressed by this bottling, today was not an exception. This is obviously young and showing quite burly (and oaky), and nowhere as expressive as a mature bottle ought to show. I really like the savoury quality here, which coupled with the earth notes and black fruit really give you a glimpse of a complete wine. Only upside from here.

February 22, 2022 - It's a beauty... medium red in colour, slight fruit nose, great acidity, flavours mostly of dark fruit/cherry, slight sour note, some plum, some spice, tannins show up as a dryness on the back of the palate and there is a slight oak taste residual. Long length with a pleasant sweetness that lingers. Great fruit flavour extraction in this wine. This just gets better with each glass as you finish the bottle.
Drinkable now but this will blossom and be so much better in a minimum of 5 yrs +. Impressive wine. A GC quality wine. This will be a Wow wine!
