August 14, 2023 - Complex aromatics of dried flowers, pomegranate, cherry and undergrowth. It has such a sweet core of fruit and layers of flavour. There’s fine, minerally detail and it builds through the palate, fanning out and showing terrific persistence. Drinking really well.

January 31, 2023 - Chassagne Ruchottes / Vosne-Romanée Grand Cru tasting (Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): Liger-Belair bottling. Bottle No. 0441 from 1790 bottles produced. From an excellent cellar. Fully mature, deep and tea-like, dry and elegant, powerful and concentrated but refined, citrus finish, great length. Deep and serious but not really captivating.

September 16, 2022 - A real standout, especially relative to the (flawed?) 2004 La Romanee. First vintage for LM and he did a wonderful job. Not a lot of power but a harmonious drink with good weight and wonderful texture. Compared to the 2010, where the signature and power are clearer, the 2002 shows a little more restraint but doesn't miss that delicious umami note.
Blew away the other 2002s on the night (DRC RSV, Rousseau CSJ, MG Clos Vougeot).
