Community Tasting Notes 3

  • jmcmchi Likes this wine:

June 16, 2023 - Four years onsince last bottle, and still nowhere near at peak

With lamb parcels, acidity worked well

After cheese, a surprising amount of spice

April 14, 2020 - Davenport Cellars Wines; 12/30/2019-10/9/2020 (Minneapolis, MN): Day 1: Needed some air to review on day 1. Smoked meats, red currants, spice and a nice mineral streak. Again these wines exceed the quality in relationship to the price. $14 for this wine puts it in the top 1% of any wine in the world at this price point. 90 points
Day 2: Day 2 has not been as kind to this wine. A bit astringent. Some sour cherry, twigs and earth. While a decant price I would go with other recommendations I have had from the Davenport Lineup. 85 points

    March 3, 2019 - 61% merlot

    Smokey red fruit on nose

On palate, dark red berries, a little savoury spice, good acidity, very long tannins

    Good for the long haul
