March 6, 2020 - Tart cranberry dominates initially. Adds more red fruit, strawberry and cherry as it breathes. Subtle spice and a little acidity. Medium bodied and tart which I love in an NZ Pinot. At $16 a steal.

    February 6, 2020 - A 92 and a Smart Buy from WS

Medium bodied, smooth red fruits, ending with medium+ acidity and longish finish. A really nice, lighter wine with some bite that’s perfect for just hanging out with friends. Great QPR at <$20

October 7, 2019 - The colour is like a textbook pale ruby. Aromas are pronounced with strawberry leading some red plums and cut grass, as well as some reddish clay. Flavours of strawberry, red cherry, lilac, hay, as well as leaves and stones. A good punch it is, but not something that’s complex, and having soft tannins. Pleasant finish that kept throwing in images of a strawberry bush, complete with leaves and twig. Quite impressed by this!

June 18, 2019 - Central Otago 2017 Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir $17. Mid-garnet, pink edges; red fruit, Pinot nose; sharp wood, plum; mid-body; balanced; soft acids, decent tannins; good fruit and flavor; a touch of residual sugar (?).

June 12, 2019 - Spritzy, cranberry sourness... just basically alcohol-inflected water. “Pinot” in a certain respect only in that it’s bright, tangy and a spoon won’t stand up in it.
