December 26, 2023 - Deep garnet with mature edges.
Aromas of cassis, tobacco, blackberry jam, cardamon, cigarbox, hawthorn and autumn leaf.
Soft juicy tannins. Plummy acids and black tea bitterness.
    Medium body.
Palate of prune, blackcurrant jam, dark plum, tobacco, leather, Asian spices and harrowed soil.
Tasted along with Penfolds bin 707 1994. A mature, rich yet elegant and easy to like Medoc-like wine with ripe and fresh dark fruit, succulent spicy notes, perfect balance and a long and energetic finish. Drink within 8 years. In comparison, the present wine is far more elegant (but not as powerful) and has a perfectly pitched balance with lively acids and lovely matured fruit.

August 24, 2023 - Dark red color with clear ripeness. Big aroma of ripe dark berries. Elements of stables, mushrooms and deep old forest mulch. Great elegant taste with clear ripeness of dark berries. Balanced. Hints of chocolate, morels and tea. Silky on the palate. Soft and elegant. long.

    January 25, 2023 - Understated, elegant
Drank at La Cantanetta with risotto with porcini and truffles. A perfect pairing
The wine was complex, still at it's peak, with beautiful fruit matched equally with tannins

May 27, 2022 - Wow! Beautiful wine and drinking perfectly. Hints of bricking at the edge of the glass but still a deep core. Nose has blackberry and some blackcurrant fruit left and hints of pencil shavings, cedar and maybe a whiff of tobacco? Palate is fully integrated, soft supple tannings, some mushroom and currants. Reasonable finish but it leaves you wanting more before the finish fades.

Popped and poured, doesn’t need decanting. Absolutely perfect now.

May 10, 2022 - Pop and poured over 3 hours and it was immediately approachable.
The cork was already soaked through and had me worried, but boy was the liquid intact.
Color was deep ruby with not much signs of aged rims.
The nose was perfuming with floral, plum, berries and very enjoyable over the course of the session. It is very much a Bordeaux nose minus the earthy funk. I'd almost say just swirling and enjoying that nose advance over time was a large part of the enjoyment.
On palate this was well rounded, velvety smooth, juicy fine tannins all intact. The finish is also nice, sweet and long with the age taking out a lot of the tannins making it a great time now to enjoy. I would say the difference with this and a 90s bordeaux would be how immediately approachable it is even without decant, aromas are more forward and the palate is more vibrant. Everything held up and evolved slowly over the 3 hours.
Have no doubt, if you see a bottle, get it. Drinks shoulder to shoulder with top Bordeaux of the late 90s.
Can easily store for another 5 years I would assume... But why wait.

    60% Cab 30% Merlot 10% Syrah
