January 17, 2022 - PnP - Loads of ripe red fruit on the palate but softened as it opened up. Nothing complex about it, just easy to drink & enjoy.
April 9, 2021 - PnP and consumed over several hours. Bursting with ripe red and blue fruit on the nose. Lots of raspberry reduction. A good amount of heat as well. There's some toasted baking spice lingering far in the background.
Medium plus body. Raspberry compote, fresh blackberry, and cassis. Silky and mouth coating; not nearly as hot as the nose was suggesting. The tannic edge has been sanded down on this, but there's still structure. Acid is in balance. Plenty of length on the finish.
This is a very nice bottle of wine and a crowd pleaser to be sure. There's enough going on below the surface to pique the interest of a more discerning drinker as long as they don't turn their nose up at the paso "vernacular". I'd purchase again at the CT value.
I do like cali rhones, I must admit.
January 23, 2021 - 2nd bottle.
N: Forest floor.
P: Cherry. Espresso beans.
A bit thinner than I remember the first bottle. Harsh alcohol burn too. Might need more air.
September 13, 2020 - Grenache shines through
September 12, 2020 - Fruity French-style California blend
June 9, 2020 - Enjoyable blend. Opened on June 9 2020.
May 9, 2020 - N:
Blackberries.
P:
Spiced plum. Vanilla. A bit of cloying sweetness, rich plum on the end. Low tannins. Extremely smooth. Just way too plummy. Cherry.
April 27, 2020 - Interesting blend. We joined the wine club. Nice varietals.
March 29, 2020 - This was a really nice blend, Grenache, Tempranillo, Mouvedre. I didn't get the Tempranillo, but picked up nice hints of the other 2 varieties. This blend was a big hit in my house.
August 11, 2019 - Nose of simple, earthy, dusty fruit, same on the palate, medium body, medium finish.
