April 12, 2023 - Served at a friend’s house. Purple fruit - blackberry, currants, dark cherry, and a little blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth/concentration; however, the tannins were still fairly prominent on the back-end which surprised me for a 2004 cab. Nice flavors of cassis, some spice, cocoa, and a really nice mineral/graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep - again the tannins were fairly prominent. Decanted for a couple hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. In my opinion, falls in between the 93 rating from Galloni and 99 from WA at least at this stage - although I believe it is in somewhat of an awkward stage and will benefit from some time. WA anticipated maturity 2014 to 2034. 100% cab.

    February 2, 2022 - I hour decant Ardor.
    Beautiful plush and balanced.
This bottle showed more mellowed and integrated tannins.
Flavors of blackberry compote and orange peel.

    February 13, 2021 - :45 minute decant
Great mountain fruit ( above the fog line ) but too much oak
It drinks somewhat tight with some tannic grip. Possibly needed a longer decant, even at 17yo

April 4, 2013 - Matt's 30th!! (Casa de Matt y Anne): 3 hour decant. Cocoa, blackberry, licorice, dark chocolate truffle. Gigantic tannins. Cherry anise nose. Long finish. Fantastic

December 27, 2012 - Decanted 2.5 hours, bottle still not open and was a bit rough. Could go another year to smooth things out, otherwise 4 hour decant warranted
