March 23, 2023 - Odd wine. I was pulled in by the aromatic strawberry notes but my first taste was jarringly unfruity, taste that I refer to as galoshes that is rather petrol-rubbery, overlying the noted fruit. We drank it with merguez-spiced lamb chops but it didn't do much for us.

April 29, 2022 - Robust and sweaty, but clean fruit.

October 2, 2021 - 2017 Comando G La Bruja de Rozas was fresh, vibrant and expressive. The youthful Madrid Garnacha was pale ruby in colour without any sediments. It boasted expressive nose of strawberry, fresh red cherry and rose, followed by liqourice and a hint of thyme herbs. It gradually declined over three hours of consumption in-bottle, which might indicate that it was not designed for the long haul.

The mouthfeel was dry and rather full-bodied, with medium-high levels of chalky tannin and balancing acidity. There were flavours of kirsch, orange peel, farmyard and pepper spices in a medium juicy finish. The alcohol level was at 14.5%. The farming followed organic and biodynamic practices.

The Garnacha vines were grown on granite soil at an altitude of 850 meters. The grapes were fermented on whole clusters entirely. The cooling influence of the mountains and whole cluster fermentation explained the freshness and the vibrancy of the wine. The wine was aged in large oak vats for nine months.

July 21, 2021 - Light ruby color fading to garnet and moderate bricking
Moderate plus gorgeous aromas of Maraschino cherry and green herbs with faint paint thinner aromas
Light to medium bodied with flavors which echo the aromas - red fruit/ green herbs and now a distinct almost volcanic minerality
Medium plus acidity and medium tannins with alcohol level quite high (14.5) as expected and really dominating the palate
The aromas really opened up on this wine over a day and was still drinking very well on day 3, so Im assuming some cellar time wont hurt
    I really dig this

May 29, 2021 - If wine is sometimes like a moment from a book, a piece of music or a film, then this makes me think of the Big Lebowski; "Vee believe in nuzzink, Lebowski."

Under cork, of course. Opened an hour and a half before this note.

Colour is light, brick and garnet.

Nose is earthy, alcoholic, some red fruits, a hint of Kirsch. Quite intense.

Palate is dominated by alcohol, Kirsch and tannin. It is intense and the finish is long, but I find the flavours are indistinct - a muddy compote. I can't drink this, even with food. Perhaps it needs more time open? I will revisit this note if the wine should open up in a favourable way.

A friend of mine with a very fine palate, whose views I regard with the utmost respect is very fond of their wine, though this isn't the vintage he enjoyed. Perhaps a bottle not up to the standard of others, or an unrepresentatively poor vintage for the maker. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this vintage, but the caveat is my friend's regard for the maker. Try the 16 or 18? Is this wine, like Lebowski, making with der funny schtuff?
