January 21, 2023 - Toller Trinkfluss. Eher auf der fruchtigen Seite - weniger streng mineralisch. Macht großen Spaß!

December 27, 2022 - Light staw yellow gold color. Nose of citrus, green apple and a touch of something exotic (maybe some Bret?), but if anything it enhances the nose. Typical salinity and seabed nose. On the palate a nice chalky texture with a fine bead of acidity that gives the wine a linear minerality and lift through the mid palate. Also quite ripe citrus and green apple notes. Very good but quite young. Will let my remaining bottles slumber for a few more years and this has the structure and fruit character for another decade easily.

December 4, 2022 - Young and vibrant chablis premier cru. Citrus, apple, chalky minerality, seabed. Medium bodied with mouthwathering acidity and lime/apple also on the palate. Give it 3-4 more years.

November 19, 2022 - This is so good. What stands out to me is the balance of soft creaminess and bright acidity, all presented on a palate of pure minerality. The qualities complement each other so well; the acid shocks your palate until the malo/oak soothes it. This continues into your glass is consumed suspiciously quickly…

March 20, 2022 - Excellent, maybe slightly less energy than the MdT. Broad, lemony entry with a creamy and saline sea-shelled mid-palate and finish like caviar.

March 5, 2022 - Decanted 1 hour. Rather dull compared to the Dauvissat Chablis 17. Duplessis is soft and rather rich in its expression, iodine dominates the nose. It lacks the typicity of Chablis, at least this bottle does. As always a rather soaked cork of poor quality Store upwards!

November 3, 2021 - Fabulous Chablis. Sea shells and citrus on the nose. Great energy, with tangerine, oysters, and a salty and lemony finish. I will try to hold onto my last bottle, but it will be hard. It is drinking great now.

October 16, 2021 - Medium lemon colour. Medium and developing nose with lemon, grass, minerals, bread dough, autumn leaves and yellow apples. Medium taste of green apples, sea floor minerality, salty sea and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Chablis Montmain. Part of my WSET3 exam prep. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with fish or shellfish.

A drop dead gorgeous Chablis. Soft, smooth, long, caressing with notes of citrus. Worlds apart from the more acidic/mineral style of Chablis (eg the Gautheron I reviewed recently) but just as compelling and satisfying. Interestingly, it took a bit of food to bring out the acidity at first. But once it was there, it remained. Drank it over two days, kept in the fridge under N2. No noticeable difference on the second day. Played beautifully against a shrimp/rice/tomato dish. Thanks Dan Kravitz for promoting this!
