November 19, 2022 - Closed at opening so give it a 60 to 90 minute decant. Volcanic ash, black cherry, and chocolate fruit. Full bodied and dense. The finish was as strong as the beginning and middle. It is not one dimensional and has some light secondary characteristics. It seems as though the wine could easily remain solid for 5 years and perhaps longer, but for those who enjoy full bodied and fruit driven wines then this is a great bottle to open now.

November 13, 2022 - Nose of red fruits, cedar, and chocolate. Rich mocha palate with dark raspberries, dark chocolate, and a bit of coffee grounds. Fat, broad tannins on the the oak-led finish, adding dark cherry, milk chocolate, and an angular line of minerals and acidity that really lingers.

July 18, 2020 - Sharp nose of volcanic earth with black cherry. The black cherry leads the palate, adding dark mocha spice. Long finish includes chocolate, oak, and minerals. Not great notes here - we had guests over and the focus was on conversation.

November 10, 2018 - A Matter of Taste: New York (The Conrad NY | Del Posto): Similar to the Syrah. Very intense. Lots of bright fruits. It does feel a touch much to me.
