February 14, 2020 - Mature, fresh, smoky oak, crushed red berries, warm spices, touch of eucalyptus, lovely minerality, transparent and flowing, light to medium body (only 12% ABV), tannins continue to provide grip, forest floor and tea on the finish.

    December 29, 2019 - Popped and poured.
    Cork broke in half
    No sign of seepage.

This was initially very lean and tart. With about 30 min of air, the wine woke up a bit and the aromatics and flavours gained some depth. While this wasn’t to the sAme level as the 1933 reserve shiraz from similar vintages, it was impressive in terms of value and there were definitely shared traits inthe nose. The palate remained lean and drying, but not a bad showing.

April 30, 2016 - Drank beautifully for a 21yo. Still some fruit, great structure and balance, not too complex but very nice for a wine that I thought may be too old. No obvious oxidation. A great wine, especially when it was purchased for $5.99 all those years ago!

January 2, 2015 - Brownish red. Typical shiraz aromas of jam and pepper. Jammy and sweet in the mouth, but with more tannins than in most Australian shiraz-based wines. Not a top vintage for this wine, I guess.

March 18, 2014 - Dusty, faded nose, with notes of tomato and seared beef. The palate is smooth and heavily aged, but there's still a hint of thick, intense red fruit at its core. Flavours of red cherry, tomato and caramel.
