June 5, 2023 - Medium-light grenat with ruby reflections. Blackcurrant, plum, cherry, strawberry, rose, banana peel, leather, earth. Body 5 acidity 7.5 tannin 7 alcohol 14.5 intensity 7.5 length 7s. Small grained tannins with good tannin structure. A fantastic wine to drink now but also worth ageing.

May 20, 2021 - An expressive, pretty fantastic nose of red fruits, Chinese peppercorn, ash, and ferrous notes. Midweighted and a little nervy on the palate, with a nice combination of power and finesse with more of the same fruit, savory and soli notes. I am exploring the Canaries now, and have little reference so I find myself trying to find comparatively similarities to regions I know. Texturally, it a fineness somewhere between Chambolle and Pinot d'Aunis but with more backbone and a little acidic and ashy bite on the back end. Outstanding by itself and terriific with a chicken and tomatillo based pot pie.

July 6, 2020 - Another stellar wine from this producer. One of a kind. Bouquet offers plum, orange, cocoa dust, hot-dirt, wintergreen, and coins-in-warm-hand. Then more of the same plus yellow cherry, lime, and watermelon jolly rancher on the volcanic palate. The initially satanic finish fades out to something sweeter and softer where the tart cherry echoes, begging for another sip. A good notch above the excellent '15.

January 18, 2020 - Another fine showing by this wine. Hard to describe., The preceding note captures part. It's simultaneously taut and voluptuous, sultry but not hot, savory. Notable volcanic ash underpinning that works into the wine in a way is different than the blacker, basalt notes you get in so many Etna wines. Almost an ashy note as if a bit was stirred into the wine. On the palate mid weight, plummy and spicy. Definitely works better with a couple hours of air and will need to be discipline to see how these wines age. I've been following this producer for a few years and this might be the best effort to date.
