December 31, 2009 - I am woefully disappointed that I drank my other bottle of this nearly two years ago. I pulled this out & drank it, assuming it would be over the hill, but I was so wrong. This wine is drinking tremendously well right now. The nose is full fruity/smokey and the flavors are fruit-forward Syrah with a round mouthfeel and a pleasant finish that is pleasant, if a bit short.

April 8, 2008 - Smoke and a little fruit mostly on the nose, when it was fairly fresh out of the bottle it was gamey and perhaps smelled of bacon.

Very weak mid palate with raspberries and charcoal, short-med finish. Very OK.

March 6, 2008 - First note on this wine in a while. Based on tonight's tasting, I found this quite different from the reviews from April '07 forward.
    Color/Appearance: 5/5 -- Very dark garnet color.
Nose/Bouquet: 11/15 -- Pungent nose opens with blueberry, plum, and sandalwood. As the night wears on, the fruits fade and are replaced by bacon bits and toffee.
Flavor : 8/10 -- Very fruit-forward out of the bottle with blueberry, cherry, and blackberry mixing with smokey bacon.
Finish: 7/10 -- Finish is pleasant, but quickly fades with blackberry and fresh oak.
Aging Potential: 2/5 -- Drinking very well right now. While it's showing decent body and structure now, it's hard to say if this has 6 mos or 2 years before it starts to slide.
Overall/Quality: 4/5 -- A very pleasant glass of wine that disappears very quickly from the glass. One of the more pleasing New World styled Syrahs I've had in a while

November 1, 2007 - Needs to be decanted. Good bouquet and color. The flavor is dominated by leather and earth, rather than fruit. Good finish.

Will try same bottle again tomorrow night.

September 29, 2007 - very average. Tight upon opening, opened up only a little.
