January 21, 2024 - Barolo vs Burgundy at about 20 years: Opened in the morning, about four hours before the tasting.
Stunning nose, still with fruit, but also herbal notes and the complexity which comes with maturity. Palate at the same level, fresh, lively, complex, with very fine tannins, but still present and punching, which give it interest. A wine that touches you deeply.2 people found this helpful Comment -

January 20, 2024 - Oregon Trip-Day 2 (Here and there, Willamette Valley): Medium ruby core with fading. Right out of the bottle, captivating aromatics-sweet red fruits, violets, menthol, and spice. Gorgeous midweight feel with perfect ripeness of the red fruit, a touch of soil, complicating herbal tones, perfectly titrated acidity, and soft round tannins. Long, fading finish. Over time, the stem notes became more peppery and dominant, and the wine became more clenched. Outstanding without doubt, but for me the bottle was at its best before the 2 hour mark, after which it lost some of its incredible silkiness and harmony.

September 29, 2023 - If anyone wants to know what a quintessential Dujac Grand Cru should taste like, they need to find a good bottle of the '02. Just fabulous subdued wild cherry fruit combined with succulent acidity and an incredible layered, silky texture make this a Burgundy that's firing on all cylinders. So perfectly balanced with great freshness and a complex, mineral and spice-driven finish to die for. What a great moment to drink this even though there is probably more complexity that will emerge over the next decade.
