  December 30, 2022 - Toast toast toast almonds creamy chalk biscuit almond extract toast nose filling incredibly broad nose it’s your whole world, then on the palate a bitter note that reduced after 30 minutes open, now lemon. After another 30 minutes the palate is finally matching the nose (toast toast etc). Finish still not as long as I’d have expected, but overall a great wine in peak condition. And that nose is spectacular — so big and wide. Still, I’d drink sooner rather than later.

  July 18, 2022 - Med dark yellow-gold; surprisingly moderate aromatics on this, fairly full-bodied and powerful, candied citrus, subtle berry notes, nectarine, wheat bread, did seem pretty pinot-centric (it's 100% BdN) but sadly was not able to glean much more detail from this as the party got hectic. Unicorn wine for me, and was very good, but did not make a big impression, probably b/c of the ambience. that's not a good excuse and now I'm kicking myself. ;) 100% PN, fermented in small Burgundy barrels, low doseage, work horses plow the 1 hectare site next to the family house, planted in 1964, first bottling 1995. 3500-7500 bottles produced. Le Clos Saint-Hilaire is named after the patron saint of the church in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.

  April 18, 2022 - M&PD dinner at Bisato. Hadn't had this wine before. Loved it. A freshness on the nose that reminded the table of mineral and ocean. Fruity, nutty and creamy on palate. Soft bubbles. Blew away the accompanying 1996 Krug imo.
