March 26, 2024 - Opened for a couple hours before drinking at the Club. Seemed rather closed. Will wait a year before trying next bottle

February 19, 2024 - A very fine Gevrey. First try with this wine. Easy to drink and it went fast too…other CT ‘s say the same.

November 24, 2023 - I love this wine. It's a rich, earthy expression of Burg, somewhere riper than a classic village wine but not as full as a GC and not reminiscent of a new world wine either. It's so fun of flavor, yet light, not at all heavy. Way too easy to drink. Strawberries, damp forest floor, black cherries, beautiful non-intrusive acidity. If I had access to it I'd drink this every day (oh yes-also if I had the funds... LOL).

September 28, 2023 - Arnaud Mortet is truly one of the modern greats of Gevrey-Chambertin. Wild Gevrey nose with elegant high toned red fruit that has begun to recede behind the oak. In it's youth the fruit has been strong enough to mask the oak, but the oak has really come to the forefront and needs time to integrate. This wine has been lovely over the last few years, but time to let my remaining bottles snooze.

April 5, 2023 - Last drank this wine about 1 year ago, and the wine has benefited and gained complexity. A bit shut down at first, so I gave it a gentle 1 hour decant which helped a lot. The nose has evolved and is now clearly showing that Gevrey animal fur note that I associate with the region. Fruit has darkened a bit, and the oak is more integrated. Angostura bitters, black pepper, and brambly fruit on the cusp of red and black, all supported by a super clean thread of acidity. Really the sweetspot in Mortet's range at current prices. This wine is awesome.

April 2, 2023 - 2nd bottle. Very nice and clean nose on red fruit spectrum. Palate really delivers with a very nice texture and medium length.
Good to drink now onwards - open in advance though

March 7, 2023 - Déjà ouvert et agréable à boire avec une belle acidité, dommage que le vin est encore très marqué par le bois.

February 25, 2023 - Same as previous note. A beautiful Burg, with much more going on than your average village level wine. Nicely balanced, drank over 2 days and my only complain is that it's getting impossible to find. Drink or hold.

August 31, 2022 - As with many 2017-wines, this is quite open already; well balanced, oak integrated, hints of sous bois here, nice, healthy fruit. Drinking very well.

April 30, 2022 - 92 now with some upside. This seems to jump from the glass and met you with enticing aromas of ripe red and black fruits, loads of cherries and a touch of earthiness. Flavors are more of the same but bring a bit of toasty oak and on day 2 a bit of fresh summer plums. The finish goes on forever. This is delicious now but will probably improve for another few years and then hold for a long time.
