December 25, 2018 - Best before June 12th, 2019. 6% alcohol.
Very slightly translucent, deep and dark brown-black color with a small, soft and creamy beige head. The nose feels dark-tones, somewhat sweet and rather toasty, but with an overall feel that reminds me more of a dark lager than of a stout. Roasted malty notes, some herbal hops and a little bit of toasted rye bread. The beer is full-bodied and slightly sweet yet still slightly thin on the palate with flavors of mild dark malts, some sooty roasted notes, a little bit of creaminess, light bitter notes of burnt sugar and a hint of syrupy sweetness. The carbonation feels rather light and insipid, the hop bitterness really mild and easy. The finish is short-to-medium long with mild hop bitterness and slightly sweet flavors of roasted malt, some soot and a hint of cold-brewed coffee.
A rather mediocre milk stout that reminds me more of bulk dark lager than anything I'd associate with the term "stout". Quite dull and boring effort, not really worth the 2,93€ for a 12 oz. can.
