Opened with slow oxygenation for 5 hours before tasting. Palate is expressive and changes nicely in the glass all night, very floral, violets and still some varietal Syrah scents and profile despite the 15 years. Palate is medium bodied, freshness is there, the tannins have melted and are of very nice texture, the medium plus length finale ends with some peppery and flowery tones. Nice but expected a little more. 90-91

October 17, 2020 - Blind. Glorious nose that at first is less hit-you-over-the-head Côte-Rôtie and more of a floral and spicy red berry bouquet nearly reminiscent of something like Haut-Brion with lots of red cedar spice. As it warms up the smoky and soily Northern Rhone notes project more, but this is less meaty and smoky than a Jamet and goes in a more floral and fruity direction. The palate is silky and has youthful black fruit flavour. Powerful but elegant and approachable. I loved this tonight, probably my favourite of the evening.

August 16, 2020 - purchased as part of a mixed case with the '05 landonne and rostaing's '05 "cuvee classique" cote rotie several years ago. paired it with beef tenderloin on the evening. very lovely uplifted floral notes with some notable complementary earthy tones. still some fruit here, red berries taking centre stage. outstanding and a clear step up from the cuvee classique. highly recommended.

July 24, 2020 - Random Wine Night after Peking Duck!: Great Cote Rotie nose. Black fruits, grape skin, slight leather and colas. This was rather tight tonight and on the austere side. Nonetheless, the foundations are there and this should do very well in 1 - 3 more years.
