March 22, 2022 - Bottle 1/6. This was the remaining 3/4 of the bottle coravined a few days back. Decanted for 2 hours. On the pour into the flask powerful bouquet of fruit. When we eventually sat down the nose needed more swirling. Palate fairly open and giving. Loads of red fruit but kept in check. After a half hour milk chocolate, satsuma and chocolate covered cherries. Some Vosne spice and green stem. Superb polish. You feel the power but it is oh so ethereal. Young but stunning. The milk chocolate and stem instantly made me think of the La Tache 2006 we had the other day. Wife rated this 98. I am rating 96+ as I think has room for upside over the next years. Can’t wait for my next bottle…!

March 20, 2022 - Coravined a glass 1.5 hours before dinner. Just opening when we sat down. Nose of rich red fruit, smoke. Palate of cherry, morello cherry, plum, Asian spice (hint of star anise), some stem and 15 second finish ending in salt soil. Very powerful but everything is in balance. Scored conservatively (had a cold).

June 21, 2020 - Ended up decanting this about 3 hours somewhat by accident.

Concentrated, addictive nose of spice, candied red and black fruit, and eucalyptus. Highly attractive palate with a velvety, engrossing and multi dimensional body with teasing red fruit surrounded with mouth coating acidity. Gives the feeling of lightness while remaining highly dynamic. The wine ends with superb finish of minerals and great length, with slight tension provided by the young but attractive tannins

A wine that is consistently great across the entire tasting and gotten better and better with time; I want to just sit and smell it but I would miss out on the fantastic palate and finish.

    I wish I had more.

June 16, 2018 - Took a sip upon opening. Tight, tannic and I wasn't sure air would do the trick. First thought was that like a lot of 2005s, they'd have a brief period of accessibility and then close down. Opted for a real decant instead of slow o. About two hours before we sat down to a dinner of roast chicken and potatoes.

Magnificent wine but really early in its window. Plush. Lots of everything. Fruit, tannin, acid. Tannins only really showed at the end of the meal, but they're really quite substantial. Just buried by a massive amount of blue and black fruit. Velvet more than silk. Despite the vineyard location, it's more Richebourg than RSV. Unlike a lot of big vintages, the wine isn't heavy or tiring.

If you have more than a handful, good for you, given how rare this wine is. These can be enjoyed now at the right temperature and proper decanting. If you don't have many, wait 5 or preferably 10 years. I'd be shocked if this wine isn't just fine at 30 years.
