January 15, 2023 - De la vanille, des notes boisées et beurrées au nez. Idem en bouche, avec du résiduel. Bonne longueur sur une acidité moyenne-basse. Gros chardo !

May 10, 2022 - Previous comments pretty much sum it.
    Oaky? Yes.
Very ripe and high in alcohol? Yes.
Not very fine and over the top? Yes.
Yet somewhat fun to drink if you're not feeling like getting too intellectual about wine? Yes.

February 5, 2021 - I like it, but for reasons altogether different from white wines designed for food. In essence, this is a lovely aperitif along the lines of a medium-dry sherry. Typical of other Prisoner wines, it's over-the-top, heavily oaked, a little oxidized, with a bunch of sweet, slightly cooked fruit. Tho basically Chardonnay, I suspect there may be Viognier and/or Muscat in the blend. It's quite alcoholic: 14.5%. The French would sip this as an aperitif, but rarely drink it with a meal, unless they lived in southern France where the hot climate can yield some high alcohol whites. Very intelligently designed for the American palate, tho I'd guess it would be a success in Australia as well.

May 11, 2020 - Over-oaked and over-malolactic-ed. Pretty much as you'd expect from the prisoner wine company, over everything. Not even sure it matters what the grape is.

March 7, 2020 - Ripe pear and white peach, overshadowed by vanilla and butterscotch and a touch of almond. Mostly barrel notes persist through a long finish.
