August 26, 2021 - Wonder if something changed between 2005 that I loved and this. The most notable feature was very high alcohol content.

October 17, 2020 - Singular. Lychee and pineapple and oak. This was stunning.

September 19, 2020 - Generally I’m not a Sauv Blanc fan as the grape is just uninteresting relatively speaking. There are exceptions I suppose to everything, and this was one. The nose had tropical notes of pineapple, peach, but also wet stones, minerality galore, with a touch of fresh grass clippings. Palate did not match the greatness of the nose, as it showed a lot of alcohol and oak. Even after 2 hours, it was still glorious smelling but oaky tasting. Too young, but one of the better SBs I’ve had.

June 22, 2020 - @ Le Soufflot || Stunning powerful nose. On the palate a solid core of stony citrus, lime and fresh apple with a lovely base of minerality. The finish is intense long and focused. Superb and young with great potential !

February 14, 2020 - Bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 2/10/2020-2/14/2020 (Burgundy): This really started to gain it's steam an hour after PnP. Gorgeous, full nose with layers of fruit, mineral and attractive green notes. Palate is lush and concentrated with bright acidity. Fun now, but should improve with time in the cellar.

February 14, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 4 (Beaune, France): At Le Soufflot. In isolation, I'm not sure that Vatan is actually that distinguishable by vintage. It's certainly one of the best expressions of sauvignon blanc (and one of the very few worth entertaining the thought of drinking at all, given the insipid nature of the grape). Waxy, powerful, sweet, and sappy, this is like all young Vatan, but with air this did seem to become silkier and more well-integrated.

November 11, 2019 - Pop and pour, as expected it didn't offer much but worth mentioned that it was powerful but never heavy and no trace of alcohol heat despite its 14% abv.

4days later. Incredible airy aromas of flower, pink guava, citrus, lemon and pepper, very complex. Excellent depth of fruits, high viscosity, loaded with power with acidity to balance. If Didier Dagueneau is a reference of WOW, this is Zen.
