March 21, 2024 - excellent but not extraordinary
December 31, 2023 - Really enjoying these. Darker color but lighter weight, nice nose, not deep but has a long finish. I get a typical BF profile here. I think the Ribbon Ridge wines are some of the best in the Willamette Valley.
November 12, 2023 - With MM. Didn't expect much beyond a flavor bomb but it was excellent. We both looked at it and said, "wow."
September 29, 2023 - Distinct green notes which eventually blew off after a two hour decant and more time in the glass. At that point, a typical BF wine was revealed. Don't know what happened in 2017, but this is the third bottle with the same results. More stems, immatue grapes? Not pleasing to me.
August 9, 2023 - Nose of cherries and herbs. Palate of spring cherries, raspberries and fox berry with high acid mid palate. Great with bbq veal and veggies.
July 24, 2023 - Really wonderful!
Delicious full tart cherries, very smooth tannins.
Steak on the grill and pop and pour!
July 16, 2023 - gorgeous color, nice aroma, deeper than color suggests, long finish, solid
July 11, 2023 - Decanted >1 hour. Side by side with a Domaine Serene Mark Bradford. BF was much smoother with more flavor. The consensus winner.
June 18, 2023 - Good. Drinking beautifully now. Black Cherry plenty of acidity and a long finish. Beaux Freres wine are consistently excellent and this is no exception.
May 2, 2023 - Translucent darker ruby. Nose of fresh cut red berry, damp cellar, musky violets, plum blossom. Layers of deep set red plum and black cherry fruit cut with iodine and a hint of char on the palate. Arched acidity and firm yet filed off tannin. Longer finish of tart, juicy, bold red and black fruit grounded in earth. Excellent with grilled salmon in Carlsbad, NM. Half bottle.
