  January 3, 2019 - A fine nose with ripe strawberries, some cherries, hints of red berry liqueur, undergrowth and damp earth. Medium bodied minus on the palate, strawberries, cherries, pure but rather light fruit, chalky minerality, quite prominent acidity, tannins that are not very heavy but stand out mid-palate, and a rather harsh finish of tannins, minerals and acidity. At current I find this wine a bit difficult to drink since it lacks fruit mid-palate, but it may improve with cellaring, 84(+) pts.
  
  There are many positive things to say about this wine, especially given that 2013 is a difficult vintage: it avoids green notes, there is great purity and a lot of minerality. However, the problem is that there is too little fruit mid-palate to balance the tannins and the acidity. I must admit that I'm not a big fan of red 2013 Burgundies in general. Those that like their Burgs lean and firm may like this wine better than I do.
