November 18, 2021 - Mencia Grape from a maverick producer in Northwest Spain. Young, better with a couple hours of air, dark fruits, good acid, blackberry flavors. This is a terrific wine. Excellent QPR.

September 30, 2021 - From memory. A strawberry bouquet wafts and intrigues the senses. Exudes sophistication and charisma without dominating.

December 20, 2020 - Day four, Zalto Burgundy glass after simply being recorked and left in the counter...
A darker expression of Mencia to be sure, yet it remains so fresh, dark complected without being ripe in the least— just a great little wine.
Enough acid to be fresh and to play well with food, yet enough dark richness to stand on its own. The fact that this is day four indicates to me that this wine has the stuffing to go for years, it is just so fun and fresh right now, hard not to pull another out of the cellar.

December 5, 2020 - This is remarkable. Very complex and layered for a $20 wine. Nice earthiness here too.

November 7, 2020 - There is a lot of complexity in the wine now and would probably benefit for a couple more years in the cellar. Drank with a Cabernet Sauvignon Riedel glass after trying the Pinot Noir and Rhone-style glass.
The body is medium/full. The wine finishes medium.
